WHO IS THIS CHRIST OF CHRISTMAS?
He sprinkled the stars ‘cross the black velvet sky
And rolled out the carpets of wheat, oats, and rye.
He poked up each tree through the hard crusty ground
And pushed up bright flow’rs at His whim all around.
He dug out the seas with one scoop of His hand
And sculptured each dune of the crystal beach sand.
He fluffed up the clouds in the day sky so blue.
And please don’t forget, friend, He shaped me and you.
But what have we done with the Babe wrapped in white?
We’ve forgotten His wisdom, His pow’r, and His might.
We’ve traded the One Who said, “Let there be light”
For a man dressed in red with a chin bearded white.
The calendar bulges. See the shoppers uptight?
“We have seven parties next week – One tonight!”
Yet onward we rush. Fretting, frazzled, we worry,
“Have I left out a gift or a card in the hurry?”
If you’ve taken time for this moment’s reflection
You’ve made a good start in the needed direction.
In this Blessed Season let’s worship the One Who made this creation.
HE'S GOD’S HOLY SON!
